# useAtom

# Function: useAtom()

```ts
function useAtom<TValue>(atom, options?): [{
  current: TValue;
}, (fn) => void & (value) => void];
```

Returns the current atom holder together with a setter.

Use this when a component needs to both read and update the same writable
atom.
